Meet Scott, who so impressed us when on a clinic placement, is back to BWT Physio. Now with an MSc in Physiotherapy to add to his BSc in Clinical Exercise and Rehabilitation Science, Scott re-joins the BWT Community Team providing excellence in recovery from stroke, management of mobility issues, Parkinson’s specific rehab and those essential tools needed to maintain independence at home.
Alongside his academic qualifications Scott also brings a wealth of experience from his time working for Southern Health NHS. Here he worked in the community gaining experience to become a rehabilitation supervisor, creating and monitoring therapy programmes to ensure the best outcomes for patients. Scott says:
”My BSc in Clinical exercise and Rehabilitation Science gave me a broad understanding of, and development of, different evidenced based treatment approaches to a variety of clinical populations & musculoskeletal injuries. This ignited a passion for guiding people to achieve their potential in recovery so, wishing to further my knowledge, I embarked upon my MSc in Physiotherapy.”
As a rounded professional, Scott also has experience as a football coach and has worked as a basketball coach. He also has undertaken work with physically challenged and neurodiverse teenagers, successfully adapting exercise and rehabilitation to meet their specific needs.
Outside of work Scott enjoys looking after his own body with regular gym sessions and long hikes, especially over the Purbecks.
