University Recognition for BWT
July 07, 2021
To be part of the vision for the future of the physiotherapy profession is an acknowledgement of the the quality of service BWT provides.
We are proud and humbled by the recognition.
We are delighted to be hosting 4 exceptional MSc students on their way to becoming Chartered Physiotherapists. The 2 year full time course is held at the AECC University College School of Psychology, Sport and Physical Activity in Boscombe. Megan, Milly, Lewis and Michelle all have a BSc already under their belts and will be working on placement with us in close collaboration with Dr Caroline Belchamber, the Senior lecturer and Course leader.
BWT will mentor and pass on valuable insights into patient care alongside our research and development projects that are furthering the quality of our service to you. All given by our dedicated and highly skilled Physio and Sports Therapy staff. Our fabulous Customer Service Team will pass on valuable knowledge about the whole patient experience from that first reassuring phone call to sorting out convenient appointments in amongst all the COVID 19 restrictions.
By hosting Masters students BWT benefit from their knowledge and experience, just as much as we hope to inspire and progress their education. All together the combination of continued learning will benefit YOU as our patient!

Here are short stories behind each student’s desire to become a physio:
- Milly
‘I chose to follow a career in Physiotherapy having previously worked in the veterinary field. While I loved working with animals, a big part of the job was working with their owners and I found myself wanting to do more to help humans get back on their feet. Having seen the benefits of Physiotherapy and the effect it has on peoples lives I was keen to learn more, and found the new MSc (pre-reg) course at the AECC University College. Now on my first placement with BWT Physio, my change of career choice has only been solidified and I’m looking forward to learning more!’
- Megan
‘I chose to do an MSc in physiotherapy (pre- reg) because I wanted to add to my existing qualifications of obtaining a BSc Sports Therapy degree. I felt I already had skills and a passion to give me a basis of becoming a Chartered Physiotherapist, and that I would be more employable with a Masters. In addition, I believe it could open up a lot more doors for future careers. The possibility of going back into full time education was daunting but I think it will be very rewarding in the long – term, and the combination of placements why it is worth doing it!’
- Michelle
‘There are many reasons I decided to become a Physiotherapist, from being in an industry that promotes movement for wellbeing, to ensuring I have a fulfilling career with exciting prospects.
Having a background in Sports Science, Personal Training and Massage I’d worked in Health and Fitness for a while but dipped my toe into other industries before settling into family life. I’ve now gone full circle to get back to working in healthcare, gaining further clinical knowledge and skills and swapping weight loss for rehabilitation; although once graduated I’d like to combine the two for a holistic approach to treating patients.’
- Lewis
‘I chose to pursue a career in physiotherapy for multiple reasons. Firstly, because I have always been fascinated by how the human body works and believe the physiotherapy profession can really help develop my knowledge of these interesting areas. Secondly, I feel a career as a physiotherapist will allow me to make a difference in people’s lives, especially through the unique rehabilitation journey that each person will go on no matter what condition they present with. Overall, I am really enjoying the course so far, and look forward to getting stuck in and learn as much as possible whilst on placement.’
We are confident each student will achieve great success in their future careers. It is an absolute pleasure to have them as part of our team for their clinical placement.
