An affordable way for the whole family to exercise.
July 04, 2023
The weather is good and it’s nearly time for strawberries and cream! Getting outside to exercise is always a great way to keep fit, build up your vitamin D and encourage some deep breathing. So how about exploring where you can play tennis in Bournemouth?
BWT Physio are delighted to have a clinic at The West Hants Club – so we understand the benefits that racket sports provide for members of all ages and abilities. But did you know there are so many places you can pay and play in and around Bournemouth?
With Wimbledon due to motivate our inner tennis champion in July, then a local tennis court could be the answer to renewing your acquaintance with a racket! You can even book some coaching at https://bourne4tennis.co.uk/
If you are looking for some local places to play, why not consider looking into the Tennis in the Park facilities?
You can take out an annual membership at less than £45 per year. This covers your whole household with no further court fees to pay, or you can simply pay as you go. Bookings are on line and are available on 20 courts in four venues
- Redhill Tennis Courts – 3 courts (2 doubles and 1 singles court)
- Shelley Park Tennis Courts – 3 courts
- Swanmore Gardens Tennis Courts – 8 courts
- Winton Tennis Courts – 1 Single, 5 Doubles (4 floodlit)
The courts are open from 0800- 2200 daily 365 days of the year – so there is no excuse not to play whatever time of the year.

If you are looking to play all year round and prefer your tennis under cover in the winter months, then the courts in Bournemouth Gardens may be for you. There are 8 courts on site with 3 acrylic courts covered by a dome in winter. You can also enjoy the benefits of a club house with a café, shower and changing facilities. There are coaching programmes and a club shop with stringing facilities too. Again there is the option of an annual membership per household where the cost covers all court fees, or you can pay as you go.
There are many other member benefits at this venue so the cost is slightly higher. For more information please see https://www.tennisbournemouth.co.uk/bournemouth-gardens-tennis/
