Hilary trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Five Element Acupuncture at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading 2002-2006.Hilary’s interest in Acupuncture and its positive effects on people’s lives, and in particular woman’s health, fertility and pregnancy began whilst she was working as a midwife for the local health authority of Poole where she has practiced as a midwife since 1986. Hilary still has a full commitment to her midwifery work and now finds that the adjunct of a Traditional Chinese approach and use of Acupuncture fully complements her work as a midwife. Traditional Acupuncture has been used in the East for over 2000 years for the treatment of disease and the promotion of health. Chinese Medicine believes that health, both physical and mental, depends upon the smooth and balanced movement of ‘Qi’- our life energy. The flow of ‘Qi’ can be disturbed by a number of factors including trauma, anxiety, stress, and grief . Acupuncture can correct the flow of ‘Qi’ facilitating the body’s own healing response. It is a painfree, calming and relaxing treatment and can help many conditions. Click here for more information on Acupuncture.
