Katja trained at the European School of Physiotherapy in Germany, gaining experience in all the core areas of physiotherapy and graduating with distinction in 1996.
Starting her career at a private clinic for orthopaedics and sports rehabilitation in Oberstdorf, South Germany, she worked alongside an orthopaedic consultant, treating a wide range of musculoskeletal/ orthopedic and associated disorders as well as offering post operative rehabilitation. Her interest in sports injuries and injury prevention led her to additionally provide treatments to both national and international elite athletes and high performance juniors in ski jumping, figure skating and short track at the local Olympic Centre.
In 2000 she started traveling the world, completing several contracts as Physio and Sports Massage Therapist on a variety of cruise ships, before moving to Austria, where she gained further experience and training whilst working in a private physiotherapy and rehabilitation centre.
Moving to the UK in 2004, she became self-employed providing treatments at her home clinic and, on a voluntary basis, at a local charity.
She continued her studies with a 3½ years degree course in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Five Element Acupuncture at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading, from which she qualified in 2009 with a BSc (Hons).
Katja joined BWT in June 2008 offering a variety of therapies including Physiotherapy, Sports Massage, Traditional Chinese Acupuncture and Manual Lymphatic Drainage. Currently she shares her time between our West Hants treatment centre and our new clinic at Shelley Manor.
