Christine Hopley

Chartered Physiotherapist

Partner

Christine trained in St Mary's Hospital, London qualifying with honours and was privileged to be asked to stay on at the hospital to begin her career.

Since then she has followed her love of sports and specialised in the treatment and rehabilitation of sporting injuries. Christine soon realised that sports injuries are not age exclusive and that all ages can suffer from a 'sports injury' whether attained in the garden ie ' pruners elbow' which is very similar (if not the same) as 'tennis elbow'!

Christine remains passionate about the absolute need for all Physiotherapists to maintain high levels of post graduate education and to this end her on going studies have been in the field of musculo-skeletal injuries. Unravelling the intricacies of a long standing chronic injury through accurate assessment and progressive rehabilitation back to function still remains a pleasure to Christine and the feedback from the patients always makes the difficult challenges worthwhile!

Currently Christine's patient portfolio are the Royal Marines of Poole in support of the excellent care provided by the military Physiotherapist.

In the past Christine was Physiotherapist to the Western Province Rugby team in South Africa  attending many of the provincial games and supporting many of the players when they played at Springbok level. Running on the pitch at Newlands Rugby ground remains one of the highlights of Christines career.

On returning to England Christine provided Physiotherpay support at many Royal Naval Judo tournaments and from that was asked to provide Physio support for the National Judo team at a training camp in Japan for pre Olympic training. The trainers and coaches at the that time were led ny Neil Adams , a Judo legend in his own right. Hard work and dedication to the sport of Judo remains a lasting memory that Christine has of the athletes of that camp and to this day never underestimates the focus for athletes to achieve world class ability.

Whilst in South Africa Christine turned her focus towards the rehabiltation of 4 legged athletes and worked on an Equine Rehabilitation Yard with a wonderful Physiotherapist called Winks Greene. Winks was one of the first Physiotherapists to apply the principles of Physiotherapy to the world of the animal athlete.. Christine has now completed a 2 year training programme with ACPAT ( Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy) and runs an animal practice at home in Berkshire.

Christine is also a member of the Association of Acupuncture, AACP.
