Chartered Physiotherapist and Pilates Instructor |

Carrie qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist from the University of Southampton in 2002. She started off her physiotherapy career at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital gaining expertise in all core areas of physiotherapy. Carrie has a specialist interest in musculoskeletal, sports injuries and orthopaedic rehabilitation as so progressed to a senior position at Poole Hospital Foundation Trust in 2005. Here she worked in a variety of areas, including upper limb and spinal rehabilitation and worked as a Physiotherapist practitioner in a busy fracture clinic. Alongside her full-time physiotherapy career Carrie has worked as a Physiotherapist for the Academy teams at Southampton Football Club. Since qualifying, Carrie has worked closely with GP’s and Consultants in the local area, beginning her work at BWT in June 2009, Carrie shares her time between the Lower Parkstone Clinic and the West Hants Club. From September 2010 Carrie will also be running clinics at the new clinic at Shelley Manor in Southbourne. Carrie takes a ‘hands on’ and proactive approach to physiotherapy and uses a variety of different therapy techniques including manipulation, joint mobilisation, acupuncture, soft tissue release as well as exercise. Carrie is also qualified as an APPI Pilates instructor and regularly uses these principles in the treatment of a variety of conditions including low back pain, neck pain and biomechanical dysfunction, in addition to the rehabilitation of young athletes with acute and chronic injuries.
